last week we went to the local fish hatchery and salmon ladder. it is a favorite field trip for kids, who can't imagine fish climbing ladders. the salmon are so huge by the end, it is very exciting when they leap from the water to the next level. we saw cormorants,
an osprey, turkey vultures and salmon in the river.
my boy looks good in blue.
on a completely unrelated note, i also hosted my once a year turn for game night, with a group of friends. we have dinner (special grilled cheeses, greens with apple and candied pecans, and homemade applesauce. i can't stop making the stuff) and these days we only play games part of the time, and i wanted to do a project.
i love to get peoples hands dirty.
as usual, i stole the idea from here
please ignore the overwhelming brick. one day soon, the litigator and i will tear them off one by one and make our home enter the modern age. yet, i am giddily happy with the result of this project. and, it folds into a little package for storage. even more impressive, it was almost free! that is, if you still have your 1990s stash of acrylic paint.
