i love photography. i love the creative outlet, the experience of capturing time, the ability to encapsulate a personality. while i enjoy looking at landscapes, i don't get any fun out of photographing them myself. (i leave that to the litigator). my passion is for photographing people. children are the most rewarding to photograph, being unself-conscious and spontaneous. i first started to really love it in high school. i took a class - and in those far off days that meant rolling film in the dark, processing and printing on paper with stinky chemicals. oh i loved it. i loved taking studio portraits of my friends. once i was able to photograph my two little nieces (now grown and one with her own baby). now i have a harder time creating a studio setting, but i make do pretty well with a black sheet. over the years i have made efforts to capture my growing family and i treasure those pre-digital images. but i have been sloppy. i generally get what i want after many attempts but last year i was really foiled by trying to take photos of my brand new boy. i just never got the image i wanted, that i had in my head. 
so i am always trying to learn more. i love to see how other people who love photography have developed their talent.
another photographer i love to admire is tara whitney. i can't post any of her photos but her style is very bright and saturated and natural. i think her best photographs are of families.
the image is found is a husband and wife team who mainly photograph weddings but they are so original and i love their photobooth series.
he sure knows his way around a camera. i have a long way to go.
