not sure when i signed an agreement to trade my real life for this strangely outward focused, demanding new one. it's frustrating to want so much to do the best i can but truly not have enough time to do most/any/all of my various responsibilities the way i think i should. what i have to do and what i should do are warring and the things i think really matter are getting squashed down somehow.
this morning when i got ready for church i noticed that a laundry bomb went off in my house. there is also a paper stacker on the loose and some crazy toothpaste smearer roaming my hall. at least the dish fairy continues to visit on a semi-regular basis. after all, if i can still make rice crispy treats at a moments notice things aren't so bad. and i even colored them blue, to make my little people happy.
1. we went to see the river cats play on saturday night, courtesy of the litigators job. it was the first time i actually enjoyed a baseball game. i think my kids are growing up.
2. it was lovely cloudy weather for the 4 soccer games we played this weekend. little L enjoyed the snuggling.
3. the first week of school was a success. we had a lot of fun with our schultutes, american history and rediscovering our math. and i cried when i read the ballad of emily geiger.
4. the litigator gave me a good lesson tonight when he taught us about being thankful for our blessings. it was aimed at the children but the arrow hit me.
5. we ran out of sugar. WE RAN OUT OF SUGAR. it's like running out of toilet paper.
P.S. i married a really RAD DUDE
