the oldest was ready for her test the next week. (out loud, to mom, in order). she passed. their eyes bugged out when they saw the size of that candy bar.
to encourage the younger set, i promised them a single starburst for each scripture of the month or article of faith they could repeat to me. they immediately learned april's scripture. and now they are almost ready with may. and i push them hard. if they can't say it properly with 3 tries i make them wait a few days and try again. i also won't let them do it if they have just left church (they hear it several times). in other words, i want them to really know the scriptures. and it is amazing how fast they learn them, and truly memorize them.
its too bad i can't motivate myself so easily. strangely, i don't feel so excited if i promise myself a king size candy bar. i feel kind of sick instead.
