happy to be going on vacation tomorrow. we will be soaking in the beautiful temperate days of central california at gramma and grampa's house. i hope we visit the beach, squeeze in a visit to solvang for some abelskiver and ornaments, and sew a bit. and take lots of pictures.

1. i always feel a sense of impending doom when i pack for a trip. i know i'll remember something important when we're 100 miles down the road.

2. a food processor will puree a whole tomato and take off the skin too! who knew! (well i'm sure someone did).

3. a food processor is on my wish list. i never knew how brilliant they are.

4. we're on the last chapter of harry potter the first. the kids are dying with suspense and full of ideas about what/who harry finds in the chamber. s thinks it's snape, and voldemort is a courtly magician who says things like, 'good gracious miss hermione, what are you doing here?'

5. enjoyed being at the park SO MUCH today. i love mild weather. it's so nice to linger and talk more instead of rushing to the car and starting the a/c because you are about to be cooked in your own sweat.
