this little one

what a glow of happiness he brings to my family! even though he has grown so much, they still scuffle over who gets to hold him, who gets to feed him, who has the fun of reading to him, or showing him the garden, or looking at the birds. he makes us laugh every day with his funny little sayings and expressions.

last night he sat by rusty's tail and laughed while it swished over his legs. he tells us exactly what he wants, and if we don't understand, says, 'show'. he insists, 'DOOT' which clearly means do it and he wants to, all by himself.

his second favorite saying is 'meemom'. as in, 'who wants a cookie?' 'MEEMOM!' i have to run an errand...'MEEMOM!'
he spends a lot of time with cars and balls. he runs around on his chubby little legs after the big boys as they race all over the house.

when i put him to bed at night he needs pooh bear & cat, a tiny pillow from b, his star blankie, book and water cup. and when i take him out of his crib, he has to bundle all of it in my arms with me.

he gets attention for his crazy hair wherever we go and my big s is his second mommy.
he will eat 3 big bowls of oatmeal for breakfast and an amazing quantity of banana muffins but turns his nose up at grapes and non bready items.

if anything soothed my troubled heart in the last few weeks it has been cuddling him close to me, smelling his baby smell and marveling at how quickly he is absorbing our world.
