today, some more get ready for baby productivity. i ended up going through some pictures (the kind we used to print at costco) and found some that i love that i'd forgotten about. we set up the changing area and the bassinet yesterday so today we went around the house for FHE finding all the places where baby will hang out. (mom, your rocking chair now says 'eat' on the back).
then we had a big discussion about not clogging the toilet where all my kids over 8 could not keep straight faces and giggled and laughed every time i tried to remind them about the rules. it didn't help that dad, trying to keep a straight face said, 'listen to your mother' and then started giggling himself.
we laughed and laughed at dinner when L started looking at his sister and telling her 'look at me! look into my eyes!' he saw what an impression he made and kept repeating himself over and over while the other kids were almost crying with laughter. good thing dad made a delicious spaghetti dinner so they actually ate too.
we also made a deal (that was the 3rd big discussion of the night) that we'll have dessert every night this week but the only people who get to eat it are those who fill in a chart of healthy foods that they've eaten. lots of vegetables on the chart. tonight we started with black magics. they were one of my favorites when i was young.
we're planning for F's big 5 year old birthday on tuesday so i'm planning on this baby staying put til after that. i still have to finish organizing my kitchen cabinets and tonight i suddenly remembered to charge and clean out the cameras! what a mess that would have been!

you know life is busy when

you start making 2 completely separate dinners.
yes, i got the hamburger out to brown for burritos, checked the supplies.
an hour later, started running hot water for pizza dough.

thankfully noticed the meat before i went any farther -
i can't function like a normal person lately.

do this:

Monday, April 25, 2011

found this and was laughing so hard i  was crying. here's an excerpt from
'thinking of having kids? an 11-step program':

Lesson 5

Dressing small children is not as easy as it seems.

1. Buy an octopus and a small bag made out of loose mesh.

2. Attempt to put the octopus into the bag so that none of the arms hang out.

Time allowed for this - all morning.

Lesson 7

Go to the local grocery store. Take with you the closest thing you can find to a pre-school child. (A full-grown goat is an excellent choice). If you intend to have more than one child, then definitely take more than one goat. Buy your week's groceries without letting the goats out of your sight. Pay for everything the goat eats or destroys. Until you can easily accomplish this, do not even contemplate having children.
